California Roadtrip Part 1 : Yosemite Real Quick
John and I were stuck without service for two days in Yosemite and it was amazing. There are so many beautiful things to see that honestly two days here isn’t even enough. Also, who the hell needs service when you have the best company ever (my “person”) and have so much to explore!
We packed our bags and sleeping bags a night before, prepared all our food for the weekend, caught up on last minute emails and headed out on the road at 7 am. After Seven hours of singing along to 80’s and 90’s music on satellite radio and stopping at quirky gas stations to fuel up, we finally reached the entrance of the Yosemite National Park. I always feel like a little kid in disneyland when I go to Yosemite. In the sense that it feels almost fake because it’s too beautiful to believe a place like this exists! It just amazes me! The vastness of this open land and how green and plush it all is. It’s just magical!
Day 1 Wearing Amuse Society top from Shop Rica with Somedays Lovin’ shorts, Quay Australia Sunnies and Child of Wild necklace Once we finally arrived we pulled off to the side of the road and took some time to wander around and take it all in. The sparkling airy light was seeping through the trees in the most impressive way. Almost taking a form of it own. I miss this about this place! We headed to the campsite, made some dinner and passed out as soon as the sun set. Day 2 wearing a thermal onesie from Urban Outfitters ... ummm I think we need to make this ok to wear out in public. Every girl needs a thermal onesie, especially a short one like this.We decided to go for a short hike and fish along the river. The water here is so clear and clean! If it wasn’t freezing, I would have definitely jumped in! Arrrghlkjlkjlk I wish I could have captured all the beautiful things and places I saw! There were times where the views were so beautiful that snapping a photo didn’t seem to do the right justice! wearing Urban Outfitters sweater… possibly the one and only “christmas sweater” I would ever own. Like little kids messing around with lights in the dark. Played with this technique for a good hour or so… there are so many trippy shots from this night of messsing around in the pitch black of a forest. Freepeople dress and hatOn the last day we saw the most beautiful sunset poking through the old trees off the highway as we were driving down the road. The sky turned a warm orange color, the trees looked a very dark (almost black) green and there was not one person in sight. We pulled off to the side to watch it go down and shot some photos of this dress that happened to mimic the colors we were watching.
We had planned to stay one last night in Yosemite but the weather forecast said it would rain. John and I took one look at the map, saw how far away San Francisco was and peaced out before the sun went down again. We found ourselves two hours later in the heart of Downtown San Fran.
I will be posting more photos from my California roadtrip through Yosemite, to San Francisco to Big Sur soon. Stay tuned my lovahs!
