Styling Tip: Get Creative
Styling Tip: Get Creative
Nothing I am wearing in this outfit is brand new. I’m pretty sure you have seen me wearing all of this over and over again for the past few months. Especially if you follow me on instagram (@Frankvinyl). However, I felt like it was the first time wearing all this just by how I meshed it all together.
Todays styling tip is about making the most out of your closet just by getting creative with what you already own. I like to buy pieces that can work in different ways. DOiiiii , that’s why I do so many “3 Ways” posts. (Note to self : do more of those…its been too long!) I love getting oversized shirts that are too long because you can wear them as a loose tee half tucked with jeans or make it look like a dress if you wear it with tiny barely there shorts. Another example is layering in unexpected ways like wearing a white tee underneath a slip dress on colder days. Et Voila! It’s like you have a brand new dress on! Basically my point is, the way to make the most of your closet is to see how many creative ways you can re-wear your items so it looks like a whole new piece.
On this day it was a little chilly to wear my mini slip dress from this post alone so I decided to use it as a top and tucked it into my high waist jeans. Since the material is so thin it works great and doesn’t even bulk up under the jeans. I’ve been really holding back from buying myself some silky cami tops just so I don’t spend extra money right now and this has been a great substitute so far. Another thing I did was cut into my jeans when I felt I wanted some “rips”. Might have gone a bit overboard but I love that style. I will get into that more in another post though.
How do you re-wear and re-invent your closet?
It’s cold and dreary outside today and think I’m going to cuddle with pooks extra long. A day like this is perfect for re-working that closet though ! Hope you have a good weekend! xx F
