Thanksgiving is one of my favorite Holidays because It’s such a beautiful reason to get together with family. I know, I know… we should be giving thanks all year long duh!  It’s still nice to have a special day wehre you come together and be thankful for every little thing we are blessed with. Enough of my cheezy self though…. Let me talk about how much I love hosting people at our house !
John and I live in a beautiful 1920s craftsman home which is old but charming. We have a really big yard, which (full disclosure) is mostly a mess because it’s way too big for us and our dogs just own it pretty much.  We also have this cute little area in the back  (our hang out spot) where we always invite our friends over to BBQ and hang out. Considering it still feels like Summer here, I decided to host a last minute outdoor Friendsgiving dinner this past weekend. You might have caught me talking about it on snapchat where I couldn’t find a good table cloth! I ended up finally using one of our favorite blankets that we normally have on our bed just because it looked way cooler. Afterall, thats what washers are for.
This was the perfect excuse to bust out my new lights Urban Outfitters sent me. I hung them everywhere to get really mood holiday vibes and put a couple squash and pumpkins I had in my kitchen as part of the centerpiece. I didn’t have much time as this was a very last minute plan (ehem.. as in, I invited my friends the day of.. hehe). I asked them to each bring over one piece of food (potlock style) and it all worked out quite smoothly. I’m surprised everyone showed up being that I let them know the day of! Anyway, hope this gave a little dose of inspiration for those of you looking to have a friendsgiving dinner. Ps these lights are super affordable over at Urban Outfitters here. xx F
