A rainy day in Paris – Polka Dot Dress

A rainy day in Paris is definitely still a perfect day don’t you think?!

It makes Paris even more romantic than it already is. I spent a day wearing this polka dot maxi dress in Paris mixed with some white boots to give it a bit of an unexpected twist. I love how girly this dress is and I wanted something to edge it up just a tad. In comes Marc Fisher for the win with these studded western boots! So good.

A great way to transition all your Summer dresses into the colder days is to just add some rugged boots and maybe a good jacket or cardigan on top. I’ve been wearing all my summer dresses again this month by switching it up and layering them over t-shirts (if it’s sleeveless) or layering under cozy knits. Although..let’s be real, there’s not much “bundling up” going on here back in California atm. I’m pretty much pretending it’s cold so I can feel like there are seasons here. Either way, it’s always fun trying to see how I can make my favorite pieces look different so I can wear them over and over again all year long. Sometimes I even like to pair my dresses underneath t-shirts, making it look like I am wearing a skirt (like on this post here).

Long maxi polka dot dresses are my weakness at the moment. There’s something about being fully covered with a sexy thigh-high slit. Sexy but not too revealing. I think this kind of dress is more appropriate for warmer climates like Southern California in the winter. It can definitely get a bit too chilly to bear leg elsewhere, but for Fall… this dress is ideal! If it’s colder where you live, try adding the high cowboy boots we are seeing everywhere at the moment. These tend to go all the way up below the knee and add a really cool edgy almost bohemian feel when added to a dress with a good slit.

I miss Paris so much already! Should I post more from this trip? Love to hear your comments below!
