Top Runway & Street Style Trends from NYFW

If you’ve been following along on my IG this week, then you probably saw I was at New York Fashion Week! It was a last minute work trip, but I had so much fun. Just being in the city during Fashion Week is so exciting, but being able to experience the shows up close is a dream come true to me. While I was at the shows and witnessing the best in street style, I took some mental notes and decided to put together a guide to the newest trends! Scroll down to find the top Runway and Street style trends for fall 2019.

RUNWAY TRENDS

LILAC

Purple is probably the most underrated color in my book. To see the runways flooded with all kinds of lilacs and lavenders is getting me super excited for Fall!  I saw everything from purple suits to purple coats and even tiny purple accessories. I’ve never been shy to this color so you know I’m so excited for this one.

FEATHERS

From coats to scarves to dress trims, feathers were in full force this Fashion Week. So many different designers had unique takes on adding feathers to their collections and I’m definitely into the trend.

SATIN

I’ve been obsessed with the silk trend for a while now, so I’m happy to see that it’s not going anywhere just yet! Fall 2019 is filled with silk suiting and 90s inspired dresses that are gorgeous and definitely wearable.

TIE DYE

If you grew up in the 90s (like me) then you’ll probably be excited about tie dye’s come back for Fall. There are a ton of ways to wear this trend in real life and I’m already planning some outfits in my head. I’m thinking a tie dye sweatshirt + leather pants! The Cali girl in me is not mad at this trend at all. It’s all in how you style it!

Neutrals are having a major moment right now and according to the runways, this trend is going to continue through Fall. All the monochrome neutral outfits are super chic and easy to dress up or wear casually.  This look never goes out of style though right? Always so perfect and never a bad idea.

BRIGHT COATS

If you couldn’t tell, it was absolutely freezing during NYFW (especially for this California girl). I loved seeing all the cozy, colorful coats on the streets, from bright yellows to unexpected shades like turquoise and purple. Can I just have them all? It’s so fluffy!

MONOCHROME

I love a good monochrome look. It’s always so striking! Sticking to black or neutrals from head to toe is usually a safe bet, but all the colorful monochrome looks definitely stole my attention this Fashion Week.

SNAKE PRINT BOOTS

If you saw my latest post about my favorite finds of 2018 then you already know I’m obsessed with my snake print boots. And considering snake print boots were all over the streets of NYFW, I’m definitely happy about that purchase. I’ll be wearing them way into next Fall!

PUFFERS

When it’s freezing cold, but you want to make it fashion– the puffer coat. I can’t even tell you how many amazing puffer jackets I saw in New York. I think if I lived anywhere other than California, I’d have one in every color.

TURTLENECKS

Turtlenecks are often overlooked in an outfit, but Fashion Week made me realize that a turtleneck makes any look 10 times chicer. Plus, they’re the perfect layering piece to keep you warm!
