What I wore: New York Fashion Week + VLOG

It’s been two years since I went to NYFW and decided it was time to go back and say hi to that crazy beautiful city. I’m currently working on a project at home and thought it would be smart to focus on it, but I felt that FOMO hard! When I was invited to a few shows and offered a couple great collaborations last minute, I decided to book my ticket and go.  I found myself super relaxed this time around. While I do love fashion week, New York can be very overwhelming for me, so I like to keep it as simple as I can when it comes to planning. I kept my schedule light so that I wouldn’t get too stressed and packed anything that would keep me warm and still be comfortable enough to get around.

Below is everything I did and wore during my short but sweet trip to New York Fashion Week

DAY 1:

The first day I shot all my outfits I would be wearing during my time at NYFW just to have the pics ready to go! I have found in past trips that this really does lighten my load. NYFW can be hectic (even if it is just a few days) . Shooting the day of is sometimes just insane. This day I shot photos, went out to eat with friends and went home to edit and post a collaboration I had due. The look below is just a casual walking around the city look that I wore to hang out with friends and be comfy. I felt a bit of color needed to be brought to New York.

DAY 2:

I slept in because I had taken the red eye the day before and needed to catch up on some Z’s . When I woke up, I went to shoot a few photos then edited back at the hotel, grabbed lunch with a friend and attended the MILLY event later that night in Soho. I wore this beautiful tailored Milly gold blazer for their event with layered gold chain necklaces from Child of Wild. I didn’t really have to be outdoors so I just grabbed my coat to get me warmly to and from the uber. Otherwise I felt perfectly comfortable!

Day 3:

I attended the Rebecca Minkoff show wearing Sam Edelman boots and a fun tulle skirt. I love how its a bit of an unexpected look for me and how it draws all the attention to the bottom half of this outfit.

Afterward, I went to eat with some friends and caught an epic NY rooftop view over some champagne. This part I love. I switched to a different outfit for this half of the day so I could shoot more pics with a different backdrop. I went for a more monochromatic look wearing shades of pink. A silky maxi skirt from Hutch Design with a metallic moto jacket from ASbyDF and Marc Fisher western booties.

DAY 4:

I went to a couple of brand meetings around the city then headed back home! This day I wore some Nine West shoes, a vintage coat, moms old hat (she bought in Spain years ago) and these adorable lace-up LPA leather pants paired with my favorite Club Monaco cashmere knit. I was extra warm!

Hope you guys liked this post! If you want to see it all in action and get more of a behind the scenes experience, check out my vlog below! I shot it all on iphone and on the go so it’s a bit shaky and very raw.
