5 Chic Sustainable Swimwear brands

5 Chic Sustainable Swimwear brands

Happy World Ocean Day! While everyone is out there enjoying the ocean and beaches this summer, let’s keep it kosher by wearing swimwear made of materials that won’t harm our beautiful planet. With my recent trip to Hawaii, I wanted to do some research and find sexy and chic swimwear that was also sustainable. Here are a few of the amazing brands I found that are paving the way into a chicer more sustainable world. I am loving all these swimsuit brands that are not only sexy and flattering but also use recycled plastic bottles or other recycled materials to create their suits. What’s not to love about that?

Here are my top 5 chicest sustainable swimwear brands I know you will love:

Mara Hoffman

Mara Hoffman is a bit more expensive, but perfect if you are looking for that high-end stylish swimwear that stands out.  Love her bold color choices and patterns! Her swimwear is made with Econyl (from pre- and post-consumer waste) and Repreve (made of 100% recycled plastic). Always beautifully made and sure to turn heads! Shop here.

Peony

Love how cute this swimwear line is. Peony uses Econyl™ (a 100% regenerative nylon made from abandoned fishing nets and nylon waste from landfills and oceans around the world). The website also says “100% of peony fabrications meet Oeko Tex Standard 100, the highest certifiable standard for ensuring responsible use of chemicals during the construction of the fabrications we use.” All their packaging is also biodegradable and 100% content that can be recycled. If that isn’t convincing enough, their suits are also super feminine and quirky! Shop here.

Vitamin A

I recently found out about Vitamin A Swimwear and am a huge fan already. Love the minimal sexy cute and fabric and beautiful silhouettes. This brand created EcoLux™ — the first premium swim fabric made from recycled nylon fibers. They also use other eco-conscious textiles like organic cotton, linen, recycled cotton, and Tencel®. I have one of these suits and absolutely love it! The fabric is thin but beautiful. Just something to keep in mind! Shop here.

Reformation

If you have been following me for a bit, you know I’m a huge fan of reformation. Their swimwear line is my favorite. Always fashion forward, stylish and unique. Reformation swimwear is made from recycled materials (such as 100% nylon waste rescued from oceans and landfills like fishing nets and ocean fluff). One thing I really love about Reformation is how they send sustainability report emails to their loyal fans every once in a while. All about that transparency! Shop here.

LONDRE

This Canadian eco-friendly swimwear brand from should definitely be on your radar.  Every flattering item not only hugs your body in all the right places but is made of post-consumer fibers (mostly derived from recycled plastic water bottles). They use a fiber called “chitosante”, which is made of crushed shells that are a by-product of the shellfish industry. They also use biodegradable packaging. Shop here.
