6 Items for a Chic Summer Wardrobe
Summer is officially here and you better believe I’ve been eyeing all the cool summer trends. I always love the start of a new season because I get to evaluate my wardrobe, store things I won’t be wearing and try out some new season trends. A lot of my key spring pieces will carry over into my summer wardrobe, but I’m definitely looking for some new pieces that’ll add that extra cool factor. See all the summer trends I have on my radar below!
The shell trend has been going strong for the last couple of months and shows no signs of stopping. What started as a shell necklace micro trend has become one of the biggest trends of the year. I’ve been seeing shells everywhere from all kinds of jewelry to belts, to embellishments on clothing, purses and hats. I love to wear shell in unexpected ways like on an ankle bracelet or on my sunglasses chain like in this pic. See all my faves below!
Summer always means my wardrobe gets a little more girly and fun. This season I’m loving the puffy sleeve trend– it’s the perfect way to make a statement. A puff sleeve top with jeans is my favorite way to wear this trend, but a dress with puffy sleeves is also really cute!
PVC was big in 2018 and has become even bigger this year. The clear sandal has quickly become the IT shoe for summer since it’s so easy to wear and is accessible at all price points. If you want to try the clear shoe trend, I definitely would go for a mule since you can wear them casual with denim shorts, but also dress them up with a slip dress for a night out.
FLORAL MIDI DRESSES
Nothing says warm weather-ready than a floral dress. This summer, it’s all about the midi dress in breezy, lightweight fabrics. They’re perfect for rooftop happy hour, Sunday brunch and of course, all your beach vacation plans. So many good ones at Reformation, Revolve and Free People.
HEADBANDS & HEADSCARVES
Hair accessories are coming in hot for summer. Headbands and headscarves are my favorite for summer when its way too hot to style your hair with any hot tools. Just put your hair in a bun or low pony and throw on a headband to make your hair look way cuter!
Vacay or not, a natural bag is a must this season. From oversize straw beach bags to mini basket bags, there’s a natural bag for every occasion. I love that you can wear a straw bag in the city with cropped denim or on the beach with a flowy dress. They’re so versatile.
Hope you liked this post and thanks for all the love!
