5 Winter Boot Trends Every Girl Needs

5 Winter Boot Trends Every Girl Needs

If you’re anything like me, your shoe choice can really only go one of two ways in the winter: boots or sneakers. If you’re really like me, you pretty much live in boots for as long as you can get away with it. That means boots are pretty much fair game until high summer when it finally gets a little too hot to cover up your feet. Because we have quite a few more months of cooler temps before sandal season arrives, I wanted to share all my favorite boot styles to get you through winter and spring. From my favorite combat boots to OTK boots, here are the 5 Winter Boot Trends you need in your closet.

COMBAT BOOTS

Combat boots: always have, always will be my favorite boot style. I love a good pair of combat boots because of how versatile they are. I’ve worn mine to the desert, to music festivals, to the snow, to the city and pretty much everywhere in between. My all-time favorites are my Doc Martens, which I have in both black and white since I wear them THAT much. Tons of other ones I love below!

ANKLE BOOTS

When it comes to winter dressing, ankle boots are pretty much a closet staple in every girl’s closet. They’re easy to style and can be worn with pretty much anything, from leather pants to midi dresses. I definitely recommend investing in a good pair of black ankle boots because you’ll get so much wear out of them! I also love to switch it up with a pair of white or snake print ankle boots!

KNEE BOOTS

For the last couple of months, the knee boot trend has been huge and thankfully shows no signs of slowing down. I’ve been wearing my black croc-effect ones from Aldo a ton this season and I especially love them for a night out. A tall knee boot is a great way to dress up a casual denim look and still be comfortable.

OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Over the knee boots are the one boot style that always feels relevant. Whether you invested in a pair of flat ones from Stuart Weitzman a few years ago or recently added a fun statement pair to your wardrobe, over the knee boots always feel chic and elevated. Not to mention, they’re a great added layer to keep your legs warm (more tips for staying warm and looking fashionable in this post!)

HEELED BOOTS

Let’s face it, it’s probably too cold to wear open toe heels at night. Heeled boots are the perfect compromise for winter-friendly dressing without compromising on style. I’m definitely more of a casual dresser, so I always look for a comfy boot even for a night out. I love a chunky heel or a sock boot so definitely had to include this in the “winter boot trends” roundup!

SUSTAINABLE PICKS

In my last post, I mentioned I wanted to include a sustainable section on all my blog posts where you can shop ethical versions of the latest trends. I did a little extra searching for this one to find some cute, sustainably and ethically made boots that you can wear all season long! Some ethical great brands that make trend-forward boots are Everlane, Dear Frances and Matisse!
