Despite all the fear, anxiety and uncertainty surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, I’m trying to keep busy and stay hopeful. That means continuing to work from home, spending time with John, trying new recipes, and of course, finding new ways to bring you content (hello, TIKTOK!). As much as I know we are all loving wearing our sweats 24/7, I’m definitely looking forward to wearing real clothes and being social again. While we wait for things to improve, I thought we could all use a sense of optimism by looking forward to spring and summers biggest fashion trends. Keep on reading to see 6 Spring/Summer trends of 2020 I’m most excited for.
Suiting is already proving to be one of the biggest trends for this season. From oversized blazers to colorful two-piece sets, there’s a ton of ways to do spring suiting. One of my favorite ways is with a bralette or micro top underneath and high waisted jeans. I’ve also been seeing a bunch of cute suit sets from some of my favorite sustainable brands like Reformation and Faithful the Brand. For now, you could even hop on this trend just for your professional zoom calls.
We’ve all seen the famous Frankie Shop padded muscle tee trending all over Instagram, and it’s only going to get bigger. Other brands like Reformation and Asos have already jumped on the trend too in case you need further convincing. I’ve always been into muscle tees and can even see this being a fun, easy DIY project with one of my band tees. I love a good muscle tee with layered gold chains. Always a winner for a little casual edge. Below are some good options below.
CROCHET & KNITS
I love spring because it means I can trade in my heavy sweaters for lightweight knits. As we transition into sunnier days, we’ll be seeing lots of thin knit sweaters in bright colors and neutrals. I’m also already predicting the knit bralette and cardigan set is going to be big, too as it’s already showing up all over TikTok!
The 70s lover inside me is super excited for the colorful psychedelic trend. I can already see this trend fitting in with all of my other favorite retro trends like flared jeans and denim skirts. I love all the boho vibes! All the best vintage prints you can shop right now linked below!
Nothing says warm weather like tropical prints! Seeing all the fun botanical-inspired prints is making me look forward to beach days. Even if all my travels have been postponed, I can’t wait to wear all the tropical prints close to home or even in my home to brighten up the day. I love to put on some bosa nova, make my favorite blended drink, and lounge around in tropical getaway outfits on the weekends to feel like I went somewhere.
Tube tops were huge for a while but took somewhat of a hiatus, so I’m super happy to see them coming back. I have a ton of basic tube tops I’ve bought over the years (Free people, Urban Outfitters and Reformation have great ones!) I’m also seeing some newer ways to wear the trend like knit tube tops and scarf top tube tops! Here are some I’m obsessed with.
