How to style velvet shoes

velvet-pumpsvintage_jacketvelvet-_-pumps_1 velvet-pumps2 Velvet has shown up everywhere this Fall. Yess!! Finally Fall, I  have been waiting for you! Blazers, pumps, boots, slip dresses. Anyway you could possibly imagine the fabric. Literally everywhere during NYFW. While I’m all for being in a head to toe velvet suit (there’s something so irresistible about that), I think another fun and even more relatable way to wear this trend is by keeping everything else simple and wearing some stand out velvet shoes.

You can really make a statement with some platform velvet pumps (or boots for that matter). Ever since I saw the Aquazzura Mira ‘s I was dying to save up my money and splurge, but then found these more affordable ones by Sam Edelman. The color and silhouette had me at hello! I styled my velvet pumps with some high waisted ripped jeans (can’t get enough of these! Also styled hereand a white t-shirt. I topped the look off with a good statement vintage jacket (because every look goes better with a statement jacket in my opinion haha). For some reason I keep styling these shoes with other metallic pieces just like in my NYFW Street Style post here. Velvet goes beautifully with anything denim, metallic and of course a good monochromatic outfit.

I had the chance to shoot this styled look with Champaigne Victoria in NYC. Her photos always tell a story and her editing on point. I really love how these photos came together! NYC is so inspiring! While I did come back exhausted and jet lagged (oh so damn jet lagged) I also strangely feel refreshed and inspired. That’s my favorite part about traveling, you always come back feeling inspired no matter where you go.

How do you style your velvet shoes this fall?

Okay, but see now you have me dying to see you style a head-to-toe velvet suit. I think if anyone could pull it off, it would be you! Love those shoes, boo!

I love velvet shoes. I did a post on 15 velvet pieces to add to the wardrobe and one of the shoes looks really similar to yours. They are gorgeous.Love how you styled yours. 🙂 You look fab.
I can’t wait to wear mine. It’s been over 30 degs celsius/100 deg Fahrenheit though, so they’l remain on the shelf until I can bare to wear some closed toe booties. 🙂
