Hotel Diary : My stay at Montevalle Health and Wellness Resport in Valle de Guadalupe

Hotel Diary : My stay at Montevalle Health and Wellness Resport in Valle de Guadalupe

One of the perks of living in San Diego is that you can head into Baja California, Mexico to get away and find a little change of pace. My husband and I carved out a little time to go relax at Montevalle Health and Wellness Resort across the US border and into the valleys in Ensenada, Mexico for a few days.  I got invited by the Montevalle team to stay and experience the property and was waiting for the perfect time of year so that I could fully decompress and relax. Early December, before all the crazy holiday festivities worked out perfectly for us. A little calm and reset to end the last month of the year with a good grounded vibe. This property is only 1.5 hours across the San Diego border and is very easy to get to. We simply put the name in Google Maps and it led us right to their front gate. Here’s a quick recap blog post to show you a couple of moments from our stay.

Accommodations:

We stayed in a pretty little villa that was surrounded by olive trees and lavender fields. My favorite was watching panoramic views of the mountains during sunrise and sunset.  Our room was the Wellness Cal King which was perfect for my husband and me. It had a Cal King-sized bed, a spacious room,  panoramic views, and a private mezzanine. I found the outdoor area of our mezzanine to be so relaxing and peaceful and enjoyed doing some light reading surrounded by the calm nature sounds of the valley.

We spent one full day enjoying the property. They had a full spa area where you could enjoy their facilities, a pool, jacuzzi, and yoga room. My favorite part was their Yoga room (which I had all to myself).  I woke up early in the mornings to get a morning meditation in and an hour-long stretch session while taking in the epic backdrop of the mountain view. For a yoga lover, this was a nice little surprise to have such a big room with a breathtaking view all to myself. Apart from their yoga room, jacuzzi, and spa, they also have an outdoor meditation labyrinth, a reflexology pathway, and tennis and pickleball courts.

Food and Dining:

Montevalle does have a full restaurant where you can eat healthy farm-to-table meals which is nice if you want to stay on the property. However, you can also always go off-property to explore some nearby restaurants as well. I always encourage anyone visiting Valle de Guadalupe to explore the area as this region is known for its delicious food and restaurants and there are many to choose from.

After a quick two-night stay,  we felt ready to head back across the border and jump into the holiday month feeling refreshed. Thank you Montevalle for having us!
